Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast tenders (8–10 pieces)
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil (or any cooking oil)
  • 2 tablespoons tamari (or soy sauce alternative)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Equipment

  • Rimmed baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Fork & paper towel (for tendon removal, optional)
  • Meat thermometer

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a rimmed baking sheet (no lining needed as tenders are coated in oil).
  2. In a bowl, mix chicken tenders with oil, tamari, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and black pepper. Let rest while oven heats.
  3. Arrange chicken in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Thinner tenders may cook faster, so check with a thermometer.
  5. Remove from oven, rest for 2 minutes, and serve warm with dipping sauce and a fresh salad or mashed cauliflower.

Notes

For best results, remove the tendon before baking (use fork + paper towel method).
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Great for meal prep—reheat gently in the oven to keep juicy.
